Welcome to the website of The Making of Movement,
an international research and conference.

This international research aims to identify "what is it that drives public action on urban mobility issues", across some 10 countries, for more than twenty cities. It was to understand how, on the ground, movement is "made”, scientifically, culturally, socially, politically, economically.

• Read more about the project, headed by the City on the Move Institute/PSA Peugeot Citroën (IVM) with its China and Latin America chairs, and by Fabrique de la Cité.
• A two-day conference - March 26-27, 2012, Paris- brought together all the teams from around the world who contributed to the research and interchanges: Find out all their contributions.
• Academics, experts, public figures, decision-makers, discussed the crosscutting themes that emerged from the different case studies.
• Sessions were punctuated with films, points of view and personal accounts.
• Future urban decision-makers, students in urban design, political science, architecture and geography described also their dreams for the city of tomorrow.

The international research programme and conference were headed by the City on the Move Institute/PSA Peugeot Citroën (IVM) with its China and Latin America chairs, and by Fabrique de la Cité, in partnership with Paris-East University and with the support of the Île-de- France Institute of Urban Planning and the Caisse des dépôts et Consignations Research Institute, with the participation of FNAU (National Federation of Planning Agencies). Initiative funded by the Ile-de-France Region (0810 18 18 18 ).
